As a Forest Guardian, Jocelyn takes care of the forest surrounding his home in Anivorano, Madagascar. He works as part of a collective reducing logging through community education. Jocelyn is the first touchpoint to connect active loggers with alternative livelihoods and support systems. Jocelyn also works as a farmer – raising crops, chickens, and even tree seedlings in the community nursery. Learn more about Jocelyn’s climate solution below.

Community Case Study

Early last year, multiple cyclones hit Madagascar and greatly impacted the southeastern regions. In the weeks and months to come, HIH and the communities met this challenge head-on. Through hours of Radical Listening, communities identified the best ways to rebuild their rice fields, homes, and other structures to be more resilient against future cyclones.
