Self Determination

By radically listening to — and investing in — the knowledge and expertise of Indigenous peoples and local communities, we will have a significant impact on climate stabilization and reverse nature’s collapse by 2030.

  • Bringing together science, data, Indigenous expertise, and solutions. Showing why these climate solutions are so powerful.

The Global Partnership

In coalition, Pawanka Fund, Woodwell Climate Research Center and Health In Harmony are working alongside Indigenous peoples and local communities by investing in their solutions and using data to protect half of Earth's tropical rainforests over the next five years. We are actively seeking to expand this partnership with more institutions.

  • Pawanka Fund is an Indigenous-Led organization striving to support and empower Indigenous peoples around the globe. It was created as the Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Learning Fund in September 2014 in the midst of the United Nations World Conference on Indigenous peoples. “Pawanka” is a Miskitu word meaning “growing and strengthening.”

  • Woodwell Climate Research Center conducts science for solutions at the nexus of climate, people, and nature—solutions that are urgently needed to propel us toward a more equitable, healthy, and sustainable world. Originally founded as the Woods Hole Research Center in 1985, Woodwell have a track record of partnering with a global network of communities and leaders for just, meaningful impact to address the climate crisis.

  • Health In Harmony (HIH) is an international nonprofit accelerating climate investment to protect rainforests, biodiversity and community thriving. By centering an innovative Radical Listening process, Health In Harmony is dedicated to serving Indigenous peoples and local communities in rainforests around the world, using monitoring, data and collaboration.

As we scale investment in Indigenous and local communities, our work is deeply rooted in social justice, impact, and evaluation.
