Amazon

Amazon Rainforest local people’s Matriarch, Dona Maria, highlights her deep connection to the Earth and all that it provides for her united family. She and her family work to protect this climate-critical rainforest, which in turn supports a healthier, inhabitable planet for all beings.

“I like the river, the forest, the things we have here, because everything is plentiful.”

HIH & Community Case Study

In February 2021, Health In Harmony worked alongside Respira Xingu and other key partners in Altamira to provide support when the health system collapsed due to COVID-19.

In May, Health In Harmony Brazil began conducting COVID-19 vaccination expeditions in addition to regular healthcare expeditions, which brought AstraZeneca vaccine doses to Riverine communities living in remote areas of the Amazon Rainforest.

“It's a united family…One helps the other. One helps in the crops, the other with fishing. Sometimes when one doesn't have lunch, the other brings it.”
